In this video, one of the many excellent resources from the folks over at Stand to Reason, Alan Shlemon helps us think through how to respond to the challenge that because the Bible only mentions homosexuality six times it is therefore not an important issue or a serious sin.
The challenge is true in that the Bible indeed only mentions homosexuality six times - Gen. 19:4-6; Lev. 18:22; Lev. 20:13; Rom. 1:26-27; 1 Cor. 6:9; 1 Tim. 1:10.
Alan is particularly adept at understanding how Christians' attempts to communicate on this issue often unintentionally come across in a very condescending way to those in the gay community - something we should constantly be aware of ourselves.
